Leisure in Sorede
There is no need to be bored while staying in Sorede, there are a large number of places to visit and a lot of fun things to do.
Nearby
Sorede and the nearby villages have several restaurants and shops, wine caves, butchers and bakeries, and a marked twice a week. Carrefour supermarked and the great Fournil de Alberes bakery is less than two km away.
For the active tourist you can go hiking, swimming at the beautiful beaches of Argeles, horse riding, bicycling, golfing, boating. Or, simply relax at the pool with a cool drink.
If you need city life then Perpignan, which has much to offer, is merely 20 km away.
Wine yards and chateaus are plentiful in the region, or you can visit one of the many famous and highly impressive Cathar castles, see medieval cities or enjoy some of the best beaches in France.
Spain
Take a short trip to Spain and Costa Brava, with its many small and beautiful white villages.
Spain is also close, with only 22 km by road, the very interesting city of Figueres, with a big market, tapas bars and the famous Salvador Dali museum.
The coast road from Sorede to Spain, passes through the charming French coastal villages of Collioure, Port Vendres and Banyuls, or continue driving along the coast to Spain and stop at one of the beautiful white villages along the Costa Brava.
Andorra
Or, if you want to combine an interesting drive with tax free shopping you can easily visit Andorra in one day, at the same time enjoy the fantastic scenery of the Pyrenees.
You can walk to the main square for a meal or a cool beer and watch typical Catalan dance. The local market is open twice weekly and here you can buy locally produced cheese, meat, vegetables and much more.
